Annapolis City code Chapter 12.32. Special Residential Parking Districts
This permit is valid from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
The permit expires when you no longer reside in the residential parking district.
Placement of Stickers
Permit stickers must be placed in the passenger-side rear window or in the driver-side front window. Permits must be clearly visible to Parking Enforcement Officers.
Temporary Visitor Permits
A maximum of 10 single-day hangtags may be purchased each month by residents of the residential parking districts. Single-day hangtags must be completely filled in by the resident in chisel-tip permanent marker at the time of use. Multi-day hangtags may be purchased by residents of the residential parking districts for a specific vehicle covering a predetermined range of dates. You must provide vehicle model, make, year, color, and tag number when you purchase a multi-day hangtag. Purchasers of temporary permits must prove residency in the parking district. The fee for temporary permits is $2.00 per day.
Purchase of a Replacement Vehicle
- Remove the original parking permit from your vehicle window.
- Submit an application, provide all required documents, including the registration for the new vehicle, and the original parking permit.
To avoid being charged for an additional vehicle, you must return your original permit.
Permit for a temporary replacement vehicle
If your vehicle is temporarily out of service for repairs and you have a rental vehicle:
- Submit the rental agreement for the replacement vehicle, and
- Submit a work order from a repair shop.
A temporary hangtag will be issued free of charge for the time estimated by the repair shop.
Moving from one district to another
- Remove the original parking permit from your vehicle window.
- ubmit an application for your new parking district and provide required documents. A new permit will be issued free of charge.
To avoid being charged for a new permit, you must return your original permit with your application.
Moving out of the residential parking districts
Remove and return your permit when you no longer live in a residential parking district.
Your residential parking permit is not valid if you move from the parking district. Parking permits are not transferable between vehicles or vehicle owners.
Phase 2 snow emergency
Your residential parking permit provides free parking on the City Dock surface lot during phase 2 snow emergencies. Streets cleared of vehicles aid faster and better snow removal. Visit the City's website at www.annapolis.gov for up-to-date parking information during weather emergencies.
